ITI acquires West Yorkshire digital manufacturing specialist Cimlogic

The Sheffield-based national infrastructure systems firm ITI has acquired Cimlogic, a digital manufacturing specialist headquartered in West Yorkshire.

According to a recent piece in Insider Media, ITI is planning to use the move in order to offer a wider portfolio of end-to-end digital services. The market-leading company already provides real-time information and monitoring systems to the UK’s energy and infrastructure sectors. ITI also offers its Sakers Solution service to operators, to help them identify areas for improvement using simulation technologies.

And with the help of Cimlogic’s digital transformation and smart factory products, ITI is hoping to add a whole new dimension to its service. The aim is to improve overall operations for its customers, by optimising and linking process and resources.

ITI has revealed that it also be buying the manufacturing consulting capabilities from Cimlogic, which will help its existing clients to roll out digital adoption projects of their own.

By combining the collective expertise of both specialist companies, other outcomes can be achieved for ITI’s clients. These include reducing waste, boosting efficiency, and making systems and equipment more reliable.

A mutally beneficial deal

Andrew Mills, the chief executive of ITI Group, said of the recent deal:

“This is fantastic news for both ITI and Cimlogic. Together, we can use our collective expertise to ensure our clients properly utilise their data to automate their operations, delivering return on investment and improved service to their own customers.

“This collaboration will enable us to deliver an expanded and integrated service to all our customers using innovative technology, to digitally transform, inspire and enable businesses to be the global leaders of tomorrow.”

Following the acquisition, ITI is hoping to expand both within the UK and on the global scale. This is due to Cimlogic’s existing operations within Europe and North America.

Meanwhile, Cimlogic’s chief executive Mike Hodge explained to Insider Media that the move will enable the Saltaire-based business to achieve its ambitions for growth. He explained:

“Following 20 years of relentless effort and ambition to connect manufacturers with the most suitable, latest technology, we’re excited to become part of the ITI Group.

“Working with ITI means we can accelerate the expansion of our business and provide a wider portfolio of solutions and services to new and existing clients.”

ITI is firmly established within the industry, with 50 years’ experience of working closely with major operators within the energy and infrastructure sectors.
